Passion. Experience. Knowledge.

Canadian Prairies Institute for Midbrain Therapies (CPIMT) was founded to further the use and study of neurobiological possibilities for healing through modalities that utilize the genius of neurobiological brain and body connections.

We are passionate about the healing and breakthroughs that are associated with midbrain therapies, such as Brainspotting™ and EMDR. We strongly believe in the value and benefit these modalities bring to client care and that is the reason we have founded this institute.

One such modality is Brainspotting™ which was discovered by Dr. David Grand in 2003. Dr Grand believes that “Brainspotting taps into the body’s natural self-scanning and self-healing abilities”.

“Where you look affects how

you feel.”

We are located in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Treaty One, Ancestral and Traditional Lands of the Annishinaabe, Cree, Dakota, Dene, and Oji-Cree Nations, and Homeland of the Metis Nation. We are committed to healing for our First Nations, Inuit, and Metis Peoples and wish to acknowledge the harm colonization, past and present, has done. We recognize that colonization has had negative impacts on First Peoples’ traditional way of living, culture, identity and freedom. The significant and enduring harm from government policies, residential schools, and on-going systemic marginalization and racism has created intergenerational trauma impacting individuals, families, and communities. One of the purposes for developing CPIMT is to offer respectful engagement focused on healing and an increased understanding in culturally appropriate ways.
